Autumn on the Moscow River
artAutumn on the Moscow -River
This weaving is a reflection of a quiet moment — the image of a church and a tree mirrored in a river, with autumn leaves gently floating on its surface.
The wool yarns for the leaves in the tapestry were dyed with natural materials — bark, flowers, nutshells, and other gifts of the earth — each color carrying a trace of nature’s touch.
I learned the art of natural dyeing at the Restoration Center named after academic Grabar in Moscow, where I first discovered how patience, respect, and love for materials can bring life and warmth into every fiber.
