Porcelain Bowl Restoration

The porcelain bowl arrived in a severely damaged condition — broken into numerous fragments and covered with accumulated dirt. A significant portion of the vessel was missing.

The restoration process involved several stages: first, all existing fragments were carefully cleaned and joined together to reestablish the original form. The missing section was reconstructed using plaster of Paris, shaped and refined to match the bowl’s contours.

Finally, the decorative pattern in the reconstructed area was hand-painted in lighter tones than the original design, in accordance with professional restoration ethics, to ensure visual harmony while maintaining distinction between the original and restored parts.
