The Window

I wanted to create something three-dimensional — a weaving that would not only hang on the wall but also open a space within itself. A woven frame that invites the eye to look through, as if peering from the inside of a home into the quiet world beyond.

You see a window, its curtains softly falling to the sides, the texture suggesting movement, a breeze perhaps. On the sill stands a small pot with flowers — fragile yet full of life — reaching toward the light that comes from somewhere unseen. And beyond them, through the warp and weft, a landscape unfolds: distant hills, gentle skies, and the fading line between the earth and the unknown.

The piece plays with perception — inside and outside, near and far, touch and sight. The woven threads become both barrier and bridge, holding the memory of a moment suspended in time.

For me, The Window is about looking out and looking within. It speaks of longing, of quiet observation, of the beauty that lives in simple, familiar spaces. It is a reflection on home, on distance, and on the human desire to connect — to reach through the fabric of life toward something beyond our grasp.
