Winter Storm

The idea for this weaving came to me during a countryside retreat that lasted three months, organized by the Artists’ Union of the Soviet Union.
As a member of the union, I had the privilege of spending that time in a beautiful location, free of charge. We were provided with living quarters, a dedicated studio to work in, and all our meals. The only condition was that, at the end of the three months, each artist had to present works created during the stay.
It was a remarkable winter—days filled with skiing, endless snow, sometimes bright sun, sometimes fierce storms. I still remember the heavy snow resting on every branch, transforming the landscape into something both delicate and powerful.
